St. Andrews Institute of Technology and Management, Gurugram — What It Is and Where It Stands
St. Andrews Institute of Technology and Management — SAITM — sits in Khandewla, Farrukh Nagar, on the Haili Mandi Road in Gurugram, Haryana. The pin code is 122506. The address tells you something useful right away: SAITM is on the outer edge of Gurugram rather than inside the dense commercial district, and the 22-acre green campus reflects that positioning. There’s actual land, actual trees, and an environment that feels distinct from the glass-and-concrete density of Cyber City 8 kilometres away.
The institute has been running since 2010 — some sources cite 2012 or 2014, but the institution’s own material references 28+ years of legacy suggesting earlier roots through predecessor institutions. What’s consistent across all sources: SAITM is affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak — Haryana’s primary state university — approved by AICTE, recognized by UGC, accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade, and holds NBA (National Board of Accreditation) accreditation. That combination — MDU affiliation plus NAAC A+ plus NBA plus AICTE — places it solidly in the well-accredited tier of private engineering colleges in Haryana.
The student base is over 7,000 enrolled students, supported by 20,000+ alumni across industries. The faculty-to-student ratio of 10:1 is consistent with focused, manageable class sizes. Faculty profiles include professors from IIT and NIT backgrounds — not a universal claim in private engineering colleges, and worth noting here because it directly affects the quality of engineering instruction.
The key sell for SAITM — and it’s a real one, not marketing language — is its combination of accreditation quality, Gurugram location, and genuinely affordable fees. B.Tech at roughly ₹87,000–₹1.05 Lakhs per year is near the bottom of the price range for AICTE-approved, NAAC A+ engineering in Delhi NCR. That’s the honest story: students who want a well-regulated, decently facilitated engineering or management education in Gurugram without paying ₹3–5 Lakhs per year for the privilege will find SAITM worth looking at seriously.

Accreditations and Affiliations — What Each One Means
Accreditations at engineering colleges are often listed without explanation, which makes them harder to use as actual decision inputs. Here’s what SAITM’s specific credentials mean in practice.
NAAC A+ is the most important one. NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) sends external peer teams to assess teaching-learning processes, research output, infrastructure, governance, student support, and outcomes. Receiving A+ — as opposed to A, B+, or B — places the institution in the top quality tier among Indian higher education institutions. For SAITM, a private college in Haryana with sub-₹1 Lakh annual B.Tech fees, the A+ grade is a stronger quality signal than the price alone might suggest.
NBA (National Board of Accreditation) works at the program level rather than the institutional level. It assesses specific programs against outcome-based education standards. NBA accreditation for engineering programs at SAITM means those specific B.Tech programs have been independently evaluated for curriculum design, faculty quality, lab infrastructure, and graduate outcomes — and have passed. Employers familiar with NBA accreditation treat it as a program-level quality marker.
AICTE Approval is the baseline regulatory requirement for engineering and management programs in India. Without AICTE approval, degrees in these fields are not recognized by Indian regulatory bodies. All SAITM programs are AICTE-approved.
MDU Rohtak Affiliation means degrees carry Maharshi Dayanand University’s name — a recognized Haryana state university established in 1975 by the Haryana Legislative Assembly. MDU degrees are recognized across India for employment and further study.
Times Engineering Survey — Top 30 in India is a publication-based ranking, not government-mandated. It uses employer surveys, faculty credentials, infrastructure quality, and graduate outcomes. Top 30 in India for a private college in Haryana is a meaningful recognition, particularly given the competition from IITs, NITs, and Delhi University colleges in the same survey.
Best Engineering College in Delhi NCR recognition for infrastructure and placements has been cited across multiple sources — again, publication-based, but consistent.

B.Tech Programs at SAITM Gurugram
Why B.Tech Is SAITM’s Flagship
The B.Tech program is the program SAITM is primarily known for and where its placement record, faculty depth, and infrastructure investment are most concentrated. Five specializations are currently available under B.Tech, with CSE in its three variants (General, AI & ML, Data Science) accounting for the majority of enrollment.
Gurugram’s industrial ecosystem makes engineering education here particularly practical. The city hosts over 500 Fortune 500 company offices and India’s largest concentration of automotive, IT, and BFSI companies outside of Mumbai and Bengaluru. For engineering students, that means industry visit logistics are simple, internship opportunities are local, and the companies coming to placement drives are the same ones students see on their commute.
B.Tech in CSE — General
The 4-year CSE program covers foundational computer science — algorithms, data structures, programming languages, operating systems, computer networks, database management systems, software engineering, and web development — across eight semesters. The curriculum is designed by MDU and delivered with lab infrastructure that SAITM has built over its years of operation.
The CSE placement rate at SAITM is approximately 90% — higher than the overall institute rate — which reflects the genuine hiring demand for computer science graduates in Gurugram’s tech corridor. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, Tech Mahindra, and Capgemini recruit consistently from CSE programs in the NCR region, and SAITM’s CSE graduates enter this market with AICTE-approved, MDU-conferred degrees.
Starting from the second year, internship opportunities become available with stipends between ₹10,000 and ₹20,000 per month — which is practical income for a student in Gurugram and creates work experience before the final placement year.
B.Tech in CSE with AI & Machine Learning (AI & ML)
The AI & ML specialization within B.Tech CSE is the fastest-growing track at SAITM by enrollment. It’s built on the CSE foundation with additional depth in machine learning algorithms, deep learning, neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision, Python for AI, and AI ethics and governance.
The specialization’s practical relevance is hard to overstate. Gurugram’s IT sector is actively hiring for AI and ML roles at multiple levels. Companies like Google, Microsoft, and IBM — which have significant operations in the NCR region — recruit for AI-adjacent roles. Entry-level ML Engineer, Data Analyst, and AI Product roles are increasingly available to B.Tech CSE (AI & ML) graduates with demonstrable project experience.
SAITM’s labs for this specialization include GPU-enabled systems for model training and access to cloud computing platforms for AI development work — confirmed through faculty and student reviews.
B.Tech in CSE with Data Science
The Data Science track adds statistical computing, data wrangling, data visualization, big data tools (Hadoop, Spark), SQL and NoSQL databases, business intelligence platforms (Power BI, Tableau), and Python and R for data analysis to the CSE core.
Data Science as a B.Tech specialization is increasingly common because employers across BFSI, e-commerce, FMCG, and consulting have created data analyst roles that require engineering-level technical rigor — not just management-level data literacy. SAITM’s Data Science track is designed with this employment context in mind.
The lateral entry version of this specialization (and the AI & ML track) allows Diploma holders to join directly in the second year of B.Tech — a practical pathway for students who’ve already completed a 3-year polytechnic diploma in a relevant field.
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering at SAITM covers engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, manufacturing processes, machine design, CAD/CAM, robotics, and industrial engineering. The program connects to Gurugram’s substantial manufacturing and automotive sector — Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant and a cluster of tier-1 and tier-2 automotive suppliers are within the Gurugram-Manesar industrial corridor.
For Mechanical Engineering students, this proximity creates internship opportunities that are harder to access from campuses in smaller cities. The placement record for Mechanical Engineering at SAITM shows connections to companies like Voltas and other manufacturing sector firms.
B.Tech in Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering covers structural analysis, construction materials, surveying, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, water resources, and environmental engineering. Gurugram’s rapid infrastructure development — commercial real estate, metro connectivity, highway expansion, and residential construction — creates steady demand for civil engineers at the local level. SAITM’s Civil Engineering program feeds this local market while also preparing students for competitive examinations like GATE for further study.
B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (ETCE)
ETCE covers analog and digital electronics, signals and systems, communication engineering, VLSI design, embedded systems, and wireless communication. This program is smaller by enrollment than CSE but feeds into semiconductor, telecom, and IoT roles. HSBC Software Development has been listed among recruiters at SAITM — telecom and fintech companies in the NCR corridor recruit for electronics engineering graduates.

Campus at SAITM Gurugram — 22 Acres, What’s Actually There
The 22-acre campus in Farrukh Nagar is an eco-friendly, centrally air-conditioned facility. The green campus positioning isn’t cosmetic — the institute’s own description emphasizes the lush, serene environment, and it’s one of the more consistently positive aspects mentioned in student reviews. For an engineering college in the industrial outskirts of Gurugram, having a campus that doesn’t feel like a parking lot is a genuine quality-of-life factor.
Academic Infrastructure
Classrooms: Centrally air-conditioned smart classrooms with audio-visual equipment, interactive displays, and lecture-capture facilities. The classroom infrastructure reflects the NAAC A+ standard — which requires verified quality of teaching-learning environment.
Laboratories: Separate, well-equipped labs for each engineering specialization:
- CSE Labs — 300+ systems with updated software for programming, AI/ML model training, and data science tools
- Mechanical Engineering Lab — CNC machines, 3D printers, and machine shop equipment
- Civil Engineering Lab — concrete testing, structural analysis, and surveying equipment
- Electronics Lab — signal processing and embedded systems equipment
- Architecture Studio — dedicated design and drafting studio with visualization tools
The AI & ML and Data Science labs include GPU-enabled systems and cloud computing access for training machine learning models. This isn’t standard at sub-₹1 Lakh/year fee colleges, and it matters for students in those specializations.
Library: A well-stocked central library covering engineering textbooks, management references, research journals, and digital databases. The library resources include physical and digital collections consistent with MDU’s affiliated college requirements and NAAC A+ infrastructure norms.
Seminar Halls and Conference Rooms: Multiple seminar halls for guest lectures, workshops, hackathons, and industry events. Gurugram’s corporate ecosystem generates a steady stream of industry practitioners available for such sessions — companies in Cyber City and DLF Cyber Park are within a practical commute for guest speakers.
Amphitheatre: Open-air amphitheatre used for cultural events, student fests, and outdoor seminars. A functional outdoor event space on a 22-acre campus isn’t unusual, but it’s more pleasant than indoor-only event venues.
Hostels
Separate hostel blocks for boys & girls, with AC and non-AC room options:
| Hostel Type | Annual Fee (inclusive of lodging + mess) |
|---|---|
| AC Double-Sharing — Boys | ₹1.25 Lakhs/year |
| AC Double-Sharing — Girls | ₹1.00 Lakh/year |
Rooms are subject to availability, and advance booking is recommended. Laundry service is available on the premises, though the hostel fee does not include it. The hostel fee includes meal charges — students don’t pay separately for mess.
Sports Complex and Recreation
Cricket ground, basketball courts, badminton courts, volleyball court, and a fully equipped gymnasium. Annual sports meets are part of the SAITM calendar. The 22-acre campus footprint means outdoor sports facilities are properly sized rather than token.
Medical and Transport
24/7 medical facility on campus with basic healthcare services and emergency contact protocols. Transport facilities are provided for students who require commuting between Gurugram’s main transport hubs and the Farrukh Nagar campus. The campus’s proximity to NH-48 (the Delhi-Gurugram expressway) makes it accessible from most parts of Gurugram by road.
Admission Process at SAITM Gurugram — Step by Step
The admission process at SAITM is intentionally straightforward. This is one of the more accessible private colleges in Delhi NCR in terms of admission process complexity.
Step 1: Register online at saitm.ac.in or visit the campus admissions office. The application fee is ₹500. Online applications are accepted, and offline applications can be submitted at the campus.
Step 2: Select the preferred program (B.Tech, BBA, BCA, B.Arch) and provide Class 10 and 12 mark sheets along with ID proof and photographs.
Step 3 (B.Tech students): Submit JEE Main scorecard if available. 50% of B.Tech seats are filled via JEE Main merit. Alternatively, appear for SAJEE (St. Andrews Joint Entrance Exam) — an online test conducted by SAITM itself. Students without either score can apply on pure Class 12 merit for remaining seats.
Step 4 (BBA/BCA students): No entrance exam required. Admission is merit-based on Class 12 aggregate marks. A merit list is prepared by the institute.
Step 5 (B.Arch students): Submit NATA score (mandatory) or JEE Main Paper 2 score. Class 12 mark sheet with Mathematics as a subject is required.
Step 6: Attend counselling after shortlisting. For MDU-affiliated programs, the state counselling process (via Haryana Technical Education Department) may apply for government quota seats.
Step 7: Confirm seat by paying ₹10,000 seat reservation fee within the specified deadline.
Step 8: Complete document verification and submit original certificates.
Step 9: Report for orientation. Classes commence in August–September.

SAITM is located in the Millennium City of Gurugram, providing direct access to over 500 Fortune 500 companies, with proximity to major industrial hubs and Cyber City facilitating regular industry visits and networking. This is the structural placement advantage that geography provides — not just marketing copy.
Top Recruiting Companies
Companies including DXC Technology, HSBC Software Development, Urban Clap, Capgemini, Voltas, Wipro, TCS, and BigBasket participate in SAITM’s summer internship and placement programs.
Additional recruiters across placement drives include: Applore Technologies, Deloitte India, Gateway Group, Globiva, BigBasket, Accenture, Planet Spark, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HCL, Autodesk India, and others across IT services, consulting, BFSI, e-commerce, and manufacturing.
The placement profile is aligned with Gurugram’s dominant industries: IT services, BFSI, consulting, and automotive/manufacturing. Common roles offered to SAITM students include Software Engineer, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Web Developer, Project Manager, and Operations Executive.
Training and Placement Cell (T&PC)
The Training and Placement Cell at SAITM operates year-round. Its primary functions are:
- Building and maintaining corporate relationships with 150+ companies
- Providing career counselling and aptitude training from the first year
- Running mock interviews, GD sessions, and resume workshops
- Facilitating internship placements from the second year onward
- Coordinating campus drives in the final year
Student feedback consistently mentions the placement cell’s proactive communication and its role in connecting students with companies for internships before the final year — which results in the ₹10,000–₹20,000/month stipend internships that build work experience and sometimes convert to full-time offers.
Scholarships at SAITM Gurugram
SAITM offers scholarships across merit and category-based criteria. The structure is transparent and applied at admission time rather than requiring separate applications post-enrollment.
| Scholarship Type | Criteria | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Merit Scholarship — Class 12 Marks | Slab-based on Class 12 percentage | Fee waiver at admission (percentage disclosed at counselling) |
| Cash Scholarship — University Rank Holders | MDU university rank achieved during program | Cash award disbursed periodically |
| SC/ST/OBC Scholarship | As per Haryana and Central Government policies | State and central government disbursement |
| Bank Education Loan | SBI and PNB tie-ups | Consent letter from institute for loan processing |
| NBFC Loans | Multiple NBFCs tied up with SAITM | Alternative loan sourcing for students ineligible for bank loans |
The scholarship slab for Class 12 marks is applied at the time of admission — students bringing in higher board percentages receive proportionally higher fee waivers. The exact slab percentages should be confirmed at the admissions counselling session, as these are reviewed annually.
For students needing educational loans, SAITM’s tie-ups with State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank mean the institute provides the required supporting documents (no objection certificates, fee structure letters) to facilitate the loan application. This is more practically helpful than simply telling students “loans are available” — the institute takes an active role in the paperwork process.
Why Gurugram Is the Right Location for an Engineering or Management Degree
The location argument for SAITM deserves a direct treatment rather than being embedded in marketing language.
Gurugram is India’s largest concentration of Fortune 500 company offices outside of Mumbai. IT companies, automotive firms, BFSI institutions, consulting firms, FMCG brands, and e-commerce companies all have significant operations in the Gurugram–Manesar corridor. This matters in several specific ways for students at SAITM:
Industry visits are practical, not aspirational. When a professor arranges an industry visit to a tech company in DLF Cyber Park, it takes 20 minutes, not 4 hours. This means more visits happen, with more depth, more frequently.
Internship proximity reduces friction. A student interning at a Gurugram company while living on SAITM’s campus or in the campus hostel doesn’t face a 2-hour commute. The ₹10,000–₹20,000 stipend from a local internship actually covers living costs rather than disappearing into transport.
Guest lecturers are accessible. Senior professionals at companies in Cyber City can speak at SAITM without blocking out a full day of travel. This increases the quality and frequency of industry interactions across all programs.
Placement drives draw local companies. The 150+ companies that come to SAITM for placement drives are disproportionately from Gurugram and Delhi NCR — which means placed students often stay in the region, close to their existing network and (for many) their families.
The Haryana government focus on technical education creates a regulatory environment that is generally supportive of private colleges affiliated with MDU, with scholarship disbursements for state-resident students that can meaningfully offset the already affordable fees.
